Carlito Bangcuyo - Treasurer
Carlito Bangcuyo
received his Bachelors of Science in both Chemistry and Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 1999. After working a summer in an organic chemistry lab, Carlito decided to pursue his graduate degree in Chemistry. During the 2000 fall semester, he enrolled and accepted a graduate position at the University of South Carolina under the supervision of Professor Uwe Bunz. In 2002, Uwe Bunz accepted a position at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA where he subsequently relocated the entire group.
During Carlito’s tenure as a graduate student, he published numerous papers in leading scientific journals on synthesis, characterization, and material analysis of conjugated polymers. In 2004, he completed his thesis titled “Synthesis of Heterocyclic Poly(aryleneetheynylene)s” and received his PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology in the field of organic/polymer chemistry and material science.
In 2005, Carlito joined a small semiconductor company, Promerus, LLC, in Cleveland, Ohio as an Industrial Post-Doctoral Fellow.
In 2006, he joined a Fortune 500 company, Ashland Inc., and moved to Dublin, Ohio where he and his family currently reside.
Carlito joined with George Kissi and UjimaCare because of his drive and beliefs to help their efforts to make a positive impact upon other people’s lives. In conjunction with these efforts and with his understanding in material science, Carlito hopes to spearhead projects that would bring cheap, renewable energy systems to underdeveloped countries.
With an unyielding perseverance, strong constitution, and eternal optimism we can accomplish our goals.
